A Dancer is Born

We recently discovered Wii Just Dance and ever since, Aaron has been dancing his little hiney off.

He has always loved music and dancing but I think we have reached a new level.  I captured this little video the other day, but this is now a regular occurrence around here. He even dances with his hands and arms while he's eating dinner!  Aaron is officially a dancin' machine!
Gotta love that booty shakin'!

Little Pharaohs

It's summertime and it's hot! We've been inside with the AC cranked up lately. So, the boys have started to get creative with our afternoons. The latest was making themselves into little Pharaohs. Aaron is VERY interested in ancient Egypt right now and luckily, Ty kinda' likes it too!

Aaron designed both hats himself, all I did was staple them.  So creative!

Here they are going on a "tour" of Egypt.

I'm sure there will be a few more installments about their creative entertainment ideas to come...

Happy Daddy's Day!!!

There are so any reasons that I love my husband.  I have to say though the main reason is because he is such a wonderful Dad to our boys.

He is always very hands on in teaching them how to do all the "boy stuff" I have no clue about.
Jeremy showing Ty how to build a bed
He reads them bedtime stories almost every night.

He snuggles up on the couch to watch a kids movie with them.
It's 3D...thus the glasses
He doesn't mind being woken up on Saturday morning when the boys can't wait another second for him to wake up.

He plays "smackdown" with them when they have entirely too much energy.

He even lets them "help" with jobs that would be sooo much faster if they didn't "help" so much.

He is not afraid to be a kid himself and enjoy the moment, even if it is on a kiddie train.

Happy Father's day Jeremy!  I don't know what we would do with out you.  You are the best Daddy ever and I love to see how the boys look up to you.  We love you!

When did this happen?

I can not believe how big my "baby" boy is getting! He just turned 5! Not only that, but I swear he acts like he is 10 sometimes.  Ty's birth"day" actually began a few days before his birthday.  In my family we like to think of it more as a birth "week"  because that's how we roll.

So to kick it off, my Mom made him a cake when we went to her house for Sunday dinner.  He doesn't really particularly like cake, but requested a "pink" cake anyway with star wars figures on top.  He only ate the frosting.  He also requested a pajama party so everyone (except auntie) was in their jammies.

On his actual birthday I told him it was a yes day.  So he took full advantage of that and had powdered donuts for breakfast with lemon sorbet for dessert.  So this year for his birthday we planned a fun packed day and opted not to have a big bash.. Here's a little photo tour of our day...It turned out really nice.
Showing me how old he is now.
He did not want another cake, he requested a giant ice cream cone and what better place than Leatherby's.  Let me tell ya' I was happy to oblige.  I could literally order a bowl of caramel with a side of ice cream. mmmm...
Looks as big as his head!

While we were there, Ty had the perfect entertainment.  What seemed to be a man "drunk in public" was put under arrest for his birthday surprise.  He LOVES law enforcement and he was absolutely thrilled to see the "bad guy"  hauled off to jail.  I was just thankful the man didn't struggle.  No tazors, brawling or attack dogs, Thank goodness!  Although I'm sure he would have loved it!!!

We had a little time to kill after that so we went to the park and soaked up some rays.  The weather was gorgeous!

Finally we went and met Jeremy at Scandia.  The boys enjoyed the arcade games for a bit, but they were most excited to get to ride the race cars.

The boys LOVED riding on these little race cars.  They wanted to win every time.

The Boys also got to ride the bumper boats and had a blast!  They got to squirt each other with the squirt guns.  They were giggling the whole time.

At the end of our little adventure, Jeremy decided to pull an evil canevil (sp?) and go on the crazy tall spinny thingy.  (not sure what else to call it)  Not only do you go way high, but the whole structure spins and so does your seat!
Looks crazy right?!?

Thank goodness for all of the belts and straps!

Well as you can see, the birthday was a success!  We had a great day and we all passed out like zombies when we got home.

I have to just say that it is truly a joy being Ty's Mom.  He has such a big personality for 5 year old sometimes I forget just how old he is.  He is curious about everything.  One of his favorite words is "why?".  He absolutely adores and looks up to his Daddy, but we all know who he comes running to when he needs a snuggle.  He has great determination that will come in handy when he is older.  I will be shocked though if he is not a firefighter or in law enforcement. He is utterly fascinated by both professions, and has been for as long as I can remember.  I can't believe how fast the last five years has gone.  He has grown so much and we are so very proud of him.  Most of all though he is a sweet sweet boy with a very sensitive heart.  We love him so much!
It seems like yesterday we came home with this little bundle...
How quickly he had grown into this big silly boy.
Happy birthday Ty!

Big Boy Bed

Mr. Serious (AKA Ty)was in need of a bigger bed, because he is growing WAY too fast.
Of course Mr. Handyman (AKA Jeremy and Mr. Frugal) decided to build one for him.
Bottom line, Ty LOVES it and we built it for about 100 bucks.
Notice I said "we"?
I always say that when I mean Jeremy. Ha!
I am so fortunate to have such a handy man.  One of these days I'll do a post on all of the home improvement projects he has done.
Great Job honey...another job well done.
